
Eileen Burns (Ballymena Road Club) and George Peden (Prologue RT) have been confirmed as the new elite Ulster champions in the 10 mile TT event.
Burns, riding for the host club, took the title to add to her previous wins in the race as well as her national titles on the track and in the TT event.
She claimed gold in a time of 22:24 from her team mate Laura Campbell, with rode the test in Toome, Co Antrim, in a time of 23:58. Ciara Havern (Newry Wheelers) took bronze with 25:16.
George Peden, who has won a series of TTs since Ireland began emerging from Covid19 lock-down, took his first Ulster title in the elite men's race in a time of 19:28.
He was just 10 seconds faster than the silver medal winning Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport) with last year's champion Marcus Christie (Black Rose Racing), who recorded a time of 19:53, taking the bronze medal.


The junior women’s crown was captured by Ciara Kelly
(North Pole Cycling Club) in a time of 25:36 from Katie Neill (TC Racing), who
was 14 seconds down, and Maria McAllister (TC Racing) who clocked 26:02.
In the junior men’s race Darren Rafferty (Island
Wheelers) won in a time of 21:00 with Ciaran Dixon (Team Type 1 Juniors) taking
silver, in a time of 22:18, and Odhran Doogan (Caldwell Cycles) recording 22:28
to take the bronze medal.
Jane Wilkinson (Bann Wheelers CC) took the Masters women’s
gold medal in a time of 24:25 while Stephen Colbert (Ballymena Road Club) won
the men’s Masters 40 title in a time of 21:13.
John Madden (Inspired Cycling) claimed the Masters 50 crown in an impressive 20:48 as Ivan Robinson (Ards Cycling Club) took the Masters 60 gold, with 23:13, and Carl Fullerton (Donegal Bay CC) won Masters 70 gold, recording 27:33.
The handcyclist title went to Mark Millar (Velo Café
Magasin) in a time of 27:37 from Darrell Erwin (Ballymena Road Club) who record
a time of 41:11.
Caldwell Cycles Omagh claimed the team crown from Phoenix
CC and Newry Wheelers.
