Results 'Round 7' Ulster Cyclocross Series, Ballymena

Chris McGlinchey (Spectra Wiggle p/b Vitus) has won the men's main event at the last round of the Ulster Cyclocross Series, promoted by Ballymena Road Club at Ballee Playing Fields, Ballymena, yesterday.

With a number of the form Ulster riders missing, including Dean Harvey (Spellman Dublin Port), national champion McGlinchey went into an early lead and continued to build his advantage through the nine lap race, with just six riders finishing on the same lap as the winner.

Glen Kinning (Kinning Cycles) took 2nd place, some 2:36, down on McGlinchey, while Graham Boyd (McConvey Cycles) was 3rd at 2:55. Oisin Ferrity (Island Wheelers) took 4th place, and best junior, at 4:24.

In the women's race, Lucy Brown (Phoenix CC) was victorious; taking the win by 2:38 from Caroline Martinez (Chainreaction Cycles). Ellen Wallace of Harps CC rounded out the podium at 3:01.
