The longest stage of Rás Tailteann 2026 today, Thursday, took the riders 192.7km from Rathmore to Banteer and it was epic. A six-man group went to the line, with the stage won by Tim Shoreman (Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli) - a really fine victory.

But you'd have to feel for Willem O'Connor of O'Leary Stone Kanturk. He took on a lot of responsibility today to make the key moves. He took a very strong 2nd place but the home town boy would have loved that win today into Banteer

Conn McDunphy (APS Pro Cycling) was the other Irish rider in the six-man move and he placed 3rd and his US team mate, Adam Lewis, was in the breakaway again today meaning he is the new race leader.
