
Ronan Killeen has won the main event on the first day of competition at the Leinster Criterium Championships in Corkagh Park, Dublin, today.
The Lucan CRC rider, who has won A1 races in recent seasons, was best in the charge to the finish line for the Masters 40 title today. He got the better of Adam Greally (St Tiernan's Cycling Club) and Cahir O'Higgins (Orwell Wheelers).
In the Masters 50 race, Ciaran Hallinan of Dunboyne Cycling Club saw off Patrick Ennis (Unattached) in the fight for the title, with Fergus Whelan (Kildare Cycling Club) taking bronze.
Gabriele Glodenyte (Unattached) won the women's race while Aaron Hayes (Skane Wheelers) was best junior and Joe Grennell (Spellman Dublin Port) won the Masters 60 race.
The racing this weekend is being organised by Starsky Cycling Club, with the elite races due to take place tomorrow.
