Matt Teggart has returned from his French base to ride, and win, the Shay Elliott Memorial promoted by Bray Wheelers in Co Wicklow today.

The 25-year-old, who was a surprise omission from the Irish team for the World Road Championships in Flanders next weekend, took victory today ahead of Daire Feeley.

Teggart (VC Villefranche Beaujolais) and Feeley (All human-VeloRevolution) pulled clear of the rest to fight it out for victory, with Teggart having the edge in the final sprint.

In the gallop from the chasing group for 3rd place, Craig McAuley (Caldwell Cycles) got the verdict and took the final spot on the podium. Liam Curley (Spellman Dublin Port) was 4th, Mark Dowling (All human-VeloRevolution) was 5th and Gareth O'Neill (Caldwell Cycles) placed 6th.

The A3 Ken Duff Memorial was won by Adam Gilsenan (CC Canturino Team) from Worlds-bounded Ronan O'Connor (Orwell Wheelers), with Jamie Meehan (VC Glendale) in 3rd place.

More to come.
