Adam Greally has made the most of his opportunity to take an early win as racing has resumed in the Republic; the St Tiernans Cycling Club man winning the Christy McManus today.
The main event in the two-race promotion by Bray Wheelers came down to a four-up sprint between Greally, Peter Kirwan (Lucan CRC), Barry McMahon (Orwell Wheelers) and Shane Baker (Lucan CRC).
The battle for the win came down to a very tight sprint between Greally and Kirwan, though the St Tiernans man had slightly more staying power and just got to the line ahead of his rival.
McMahon was just behind them and rounded out the podium, with Baker a few lengths behind the Orwell man in 4th.

The action in the Bray Wheelers promotion was captured nicely today by photographer John Busher
While the leading four had a decent gap on the line the remains of the bunch could see them on the finishing straight and the fight for the last two prizes came down to a sprint from that bunch.
Eoin Ahern (Orwell Wheelers) proved fastest in the dash to the line and so he took 5th place from Gavin Hendley (Lucan CRC). Veteran John Priest, another Lucan CRC man, was next, taking 7th and that was enough to give him the A3 prize.
Megan Armitage (UCD Cycling Club) was leading woman, just days after she won the women's race at the Starsky CC Grand Prix in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, last Monday. Eoghan Cooke (Ounavarra CC) was best junior today.
In the Ronnie Coates Memorial for A4 riders, Bob van Winden (Orwell Wheelers) emerged victorious with Colm Mullen (Team WORC) in 2nd place and Pawel Jankowski (Starsky Cycling) rounding out the podium.
