Marcus Christie has dusted himself down from the bitter disappointment of not being selected for the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games team and has today won the Noel and Kieran Hammond TT in Co Wicklow.
The event - organised by Pinergy Orwell Wheelers - was the third round of the Cycling Ireland National TT Series.
Christie (Banbridge CC) won the men's race in a time of 41:49, some 1:02 faster than Paul Kennedy (Burren CC), Tim Walton (St Tiernan's CC) was 3rd in a time of 43:52, with Banbridge CC winning the men's team prize.
Ciara Cinch (Cuchulainn CC) was also victorious today, winning the elite women's event in a time of 54:07. That was 3:18 faster than runner-up Eva Brennan (UCD Cycling Club), with Lorraine Harrington (SERC) in 3rd place in a time of 1:04.36.
