The Powerhouse Sport junior team has scored a result to remember in wet conditions in Co Derry.
Four of the team’s riders formed the winning escape and took places 1st to 4th in the Danny Boy Races A3 event.
The four - Liam Wilson, PJ Doogan, Adam Ward and Brendan Flanagan – were over one minute ahead of the next man to finish.
In 5th place was Aaron Baines (Spinning CC), taking a very strong result against the Powerhouse superiority.
The event, run by Roe Valley Cycling Club in Feeny, was five laps of a tough 12 mile course, with plenty of short ramps and two long drags.
Powerhouse Sport set out its stall early, clipping away in many early moves.
Eventual 4th placed man Flanagan was particularly active, spending almost all of the opening two laps clear in various groups.
The main move of the day went clear three laps into the contest.
Wilson, Doogan and Ward attacked from the bunch to get across to a breakaway already about 20 seconds clear.
In that move already up the road was the aggressive Flanagan, meaning Powerhouse Sport had all their riders away.
The trio bridged across and drove the front group hard, with Flanagan and a small number of A3 riders joining.
They put their heads down and a large gap opened back to the bunch.
And when the escape hit the last drag on the penultimate lap it whittled down from eight to four riders, all of them Powerhouse Sport men.
Knowing they had a clean sweep of the podium and 4th in the bag, they kept driving hard and were told they had two minutes on the main bunch.
It meant they had plenty of time to savour the achievement on the final half lap and enjoy their victory at the finish.
The A4 event was won by Conor Bradley (Dunloy CC) from Kyle Adams (Ards CC) and Shane McNeill (BCAS).
