Luke Smith has confirmed his good
form with another win; proving best this evening in the Ballivor Grand Prix in
Co Meath.

The Moynalty CC rider, and former
junior international, was best in a sprint from the breakaway to take his
second victory of the season.

He signaled his intent for this year
when he won the opening round of the Cycling Ireland National Road Series in Co
Limerick last month; seeing off a quality breakaway in the final sprint to the
line.

Tonight’s race was much shorter and
the breakaway only escaped very late in the contest. However, once again, when
called upon to produce the goods Smith was quickest in the dash to the
chequered flag.

While the racing was characterised
by plenty of aggression and moves going clear, all of those efforts were neutralised
until the winning breakaway got clear on the final lap.
