Road racing returned to the island of Ireland today for the first time since last year and Gareth O'Neill was straight out of the traps to record a victory for Caldwell Cycles.
O'Neill took a solo win in the main event at the Annaclone GP, promoted by Banbridge CC, in the first event permitted after lock-down restrictions were eased in Northern Ireland.
He had 14 seconds to spare over the chasing group, with the sprint for 2nd place won by Nathan Mullan (Dromara CC) from Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles).
The A4 event was taken by Karl Love of VC Glendale from his team mate Chris Oakley, with Peter Elliott of VC Iveagh in 3rd.
Teenager Maia
Simmons (Canyon Development) was the leading woman in that race and got up into
the top 10; taking 9th on the day.
Lots more to come.
