Liam Crowley (UCD Cycling Club) took the win today after an impressive 23km solo attack at the PJ O'Riordan Memorial race today in Limerick.

The race was off to a fast start, with Daire Feeley (All human-VeloRevolution) attacking from the gun. However, the peloton were not letting anyone away easily. The pace for the first half of the race remained high, with no major breakaways staying clear.

It wasn't until the halfway mark that a breakaway formed. It grew to a 12-13 man group, consisting of strong riders, such as Joel Luke (UCD), Conor Kissane (Killarney CC), Paul Kennedy (Burren CC) and winner Liam Crowley.

On the last lap Crowley attacked, gaining an instant gap, which continued to grow to about 58 seconds at one stage. The gap narrowed near the end, as he struggled with the block headwind, but still managed to pull off a 23km solo attack.

After just recovering from a broken wrist in Rás Mayo, Crowley is now looking forward to and setting goals for Ras Tailteann.
