Number one ranked Irish road racing cyclist last season, Daire Feeley (EvoPro Racing) swiped up another victory today at the 55th John Drumm Memorial race.
The main event, for A1-A2 riders, was 108.5km, run over
seven, laps, with the winning breakaway going clear about 70km into the race.
In that move with eventual winner Feeley were: Conor
Hennebry (Dan Morrissey Pactimo), Paul Kennedy (Burren CC), Joel Luke (UCD Cycling
Club) and Connor Kissane (Killarney CC).
They rode well as a unit until the inevitable attacks
began to be fired off the front of the breakaway, with Feeley managing to get
clear solo on a climb with about 1km remaining.
