Daire Feeley (All human-VeloRevolution) has added to his tally of wins for the season with victory in the inaugural Sean Lynch Memorial in Skyrne, Co Meath, today. The Roscommon rider won solo after spending much of the race out front in a two-man move with Darragh McCarter.

The racing was run by Jons Drogheda Wheelers in memory of former club member Sean Lynch who very sadly lost his life in a racing crash in Co Wexford three years ago.

The main event today – for A1-A2 riders – was run of five laps of a 15km course. McCarter and Feeley got clear with a couple of other riders, who were distanced after a period, on the opening.

While Feeley and McCarter worked well together to stay clear they never got their cap up over the one-minute marker on what was a very fast course. On the final lap Feeley managed to gap McCarter on the final lap up the drag towards the finish.

McCarter, in flying form again this year, was rewarded for his race-long efforts with 2nd place while Luke Smith (Moynalty Cycling Club) rounded out the podium after attacking the bunch and finishing just behind McCarter.

Gorey Three Day stage winner and yellow jersey, Shane Coll of promoting club Jons Drogheda Wheelers took 4th; winning the sprint from the remains of the peloton. Sean Landers (UCD Cycling Club) was 5th and Ryan Geraghty (Spin 11-Chain Reaction) in 6th place.
