Luke Smith (Moynalty CC) has won the main event at the Starsky CC St Patrick's Day Races in Kilbride, Co Wicklow. Smith, who enjoyed a very strong season last year, was best in the sprint from the breakaway, edging 2021 breakthrough rider Conor Murnane (UCD Cycling Club) into 2nd place.
Matteo Cigala (Dan Morrissey-Pactimo), who won the Newbridge GP in Co Kildare last Sunday, had to be content with 3rd place today. The rest of the breakaway riders - Alan Bingham (Newry Wheelers), Paul Antoine Hagan (Banbridge CC) and Loughlin Campion (Ashbourne Wheelers) – filled places 4th through 6th.
