Darnell Moore has taken his second win of the season just
a few days after opening his account for 2021; the Caldwell Cycles main
claiming victory in Fermanagh last evening.

Moore was part of a strong breakaway that got clear of
the peloton in the main event at the Mozzarella Fellas Lady of the Lake Race in
Irvinestown, Co Fermanagh, just four days after winning at the Mondello Series
in Co Kildare.

When the breakaway split at the end of the contest it was Moore and Mark McGinley (Four Masters CC) who proved stronger than their rivals and just about got ahead.

While McGinley pushed Moore close, the win went to the Caldwell Cycles man, with McGinley taking the runner-up placing just ahead of the remainder of the breakaway men.

The others with Moore and McGinley in the winning
breakaway included Nathan Mullan (Dromara Cycling Club), Conor McCann (Inspired
Cycling), Conor Sprice (Lakeland CC), Ciaran Dixon (Phoenix CC) and Darragh
McCarter (Spellman-Dublin Port), among others.

When the breakaway split in the finale, some of them drifted away from the front of the race as other riders came through for a place in the top 10 having broken clear of the bunch and set off in pursuit of the leaders.

Those chasers included Michael Gormley (Carn Wheelers), Aaron Quinn (Four
Masters CC) and Mark McGirr of the promoting club, Lakeland CC.

At the finish,
while Moore and McGinley were strongest in the charge to the line, Nathan
Mullan (Dromara Cycling Club) and Conor McCann (Inspired Cycling) also pulled clear of the others in the
breakaway and they took 3rd and 4th.

There was then a small gap back to McCarter, in 5th, before Sprice finished a few lengths further back in 6th place. Dixon was 7th, and was the final surviving breakaway men over the line, just ahead of Gormley, Quinn and McGirr.
