Sean McKenna has made it back-to-back wins this weekend with another great victory at the Newbridge GP in Co Kildare.

The Aquablue CC man crossed the line with plenty of time to spare for what was his fourth win of the season.

He was several minutes ahead of a select group of chasers, which was led in by Ryan Sherlock (Unattached) with David Watson (North Down CC) rounding out the podium.

McKenna, who won Rás Naomh Finian yesterday in Clonard, Co Meath, went clear around the midway point today.

And with three of the six 17.5 kilometre laps remaining he had a lead of 45 seconds on a group of six chasers.

Though that gap fluctuated, he was never seen again before the finish.

The A3 event was a cracking race, won by former Italian international junior rider Matteo Cigala of Navan Road Club.

The race was a hugely aggressive affair with several groups escaping and being reeled in over the 70-kilometre event.

One break of around a half a dozen riders stayed out front for over 40 kilometres but was caught in with less than five kilometres to go, paving the way for the sprint.

Similarly, the A4 race over three laps, for a race distance of 52km, was won in a sprint by Craig Longmore (Lucan CRC) with Dermot Healy (Drogheda CC) and Stephen O'Brien (Blanchardstown CC) filling the minor placings.
