After the highs of Darren Rafferty and Lucy Benezet Minns finishing 5th and 4th - in the U23 men's TT and junior women's TT - at the UCI World Road Championships in Scotland, Adam Rafferty and Liam O'Brien have also put in sensational performances today.

Representing Ireland in the junior men's TT - some 22.7km with the brutal cobbled climb to Stirling Castle to finish - Adam Rafferty, a proven tester in an international context, has raced to 8th place in a 72-rider field at these Worlds this morning.

And his team mate Liam O'Brien - who also now has a growing collection of very impressive results in UCI-ranked international events - placed 11th. Those were two fantastic performances at what is now an ultra competitive category given how many juniors go straight into professional contracts.
