Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) has taken his first win of the year after sprinting from a large lead group on the Jebel Jais climb at the end of stage 4 at UAE Tour today.

The Tour de France champion never looked troubled as the pace and attacks up the climb saw the main field shredded before a large select group formed out front.

Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) and Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-hansgrohe) placed 2nd and 3rd; the top three all finishing on the same time. Ruben Guerreiro (EF Education-EasyPost) brought home the rest of the group, in 4th place and two seconds down on the leading trio.

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) survived in the front group up the climb but because he was on the wrong side of the splits at the finish he missed out on taking the leader's jersey. He is now 2nd overall, just two seconds down on defending champion Pogačar.
