Paul O'Reilly caused a major upset in this morning's second stage of the Charleville Two-Day A2-A3 race when he stormed to a brilliant victory in the time-trial; the Fixx Rouleurs man guesting with UCD CC this weekend.
His UCD team-mate Joseph Breheny made it a memorable morning for the Dublin club when he took second place.
The duo were in the day's breakaway on stage one yesterday and though O'Reilly would eventually become distanced in the run-in to the line, Breheny hung on to take an excellent fourth place.
He was only beaten by three of the country's best juniors; Eddie Dunbar (O'Leary's Stone Kanturk), Stephen Shanahan (Limerick CC) and Daire Feeley (Donamon Dynamos).

Unsurprisingly, that trio were also to the fore this morning on the six-kilometre course, with Feeley fourth at two seconds, Dunbar fifth at 6 seconds and Shanahan eighth at 17 seconds.
The result, however, sees Breheny jump from fourth overall to second, albeit on the same time as Feeley. Shanahan is now fourth at 27 seconds and O'Reilly next at 54 seconds.

Dylan O'Brien (O'Leary's Stone Kanturk) was another to perform superbly this morning and he clocked a time that was good enough for third place. He is now sixth overall at 56 seconds going into this afternoon's very hilly final stage.
Last year it was Dunbar and O'Brien who broke away from the pack on the climb of Glenanaar and stayed away to the finish to take stage and overall honours.
