Having claimed bronze in the elite TT at the National Road Championships last week it was perhaps no surprise Paul Kennedy came out on top at the Bogman Two Day stage 2 TT on Sunday.
However, while the Newcastle West man won the day, it was Mark Shannon of Burren CC who took yellow.
On the opening stage yesterday a strong breakaway put significant time into everyone else in the race.
Cathal Purcell (Panduit Carrick Wheelers) won the stage but Shannon was 5th having made the winning escape.
And when he was 4th in the morning stage 2 TT over 8km in Letterfrack, he went into yellow.
Kennedy won the test by 11 seconds from Cian Sutcliffe (Lucan CRC). Seam Moore (Gerard DHL) was next some 14 seconds off the winner.

And then came Shannon; some 18 seconds down and in 4th place. Stage 1 winner Purcell rode well in the TT, finishing 5th at 26 seconds.
Shannon was set to go into the afternoon concluding stage with a seven second general classification lead overall over Purcell.
They are followed by the other men who made the opening stage escape.
Mark O’Callaghan (Cyberteam ASD) is next; in 3rd place some 14 seconds down on the yellow jersey.

And Conor Hennebry (Viner-Caremark-Pactimo) is in 4th place, just 16 seconds off the race lead.
Then comes Darragh McCarter (Donegal Bay CC), who was also in the breakaway yesterday, is 5th at 22 seconds. Moore in 6th, just 42 seconds down.
