British rider Tom Pattinson has claimed the opening stage of the Eurocycles Eurobabies Junior Tour of Ireland in Co Clare this evening. The Halesowen Academy Mapei rider just got the verdict over American rider Alejandro Che (VeloSport) and Australian Brayden Bloch (BRE).
The honours came down to a bunch sprint after 48km of racing this evening on the Barefield Circuit. Though the race was marked by plenty of aggression, nothing stuck on the short stage.
Adam Gilsenan (Team Ireland) was the best of the Irish on the night, placing 7th in the final dash to the line while compatriot Chris Marshall (Pinergy Orwell Wheelers) placed 9th.
