Kennedy wins, McCambridge (17) impresses at Orwell Two Day

Paul Kennedy (Foran CC) has taken the opening stage of the Orwell Two Day in Co Wicklow; claiming the 11km TT from Kevin McCambridge.

Kennedy beat the Vitus-Chill-NRPT junior by 17 seconds, a useful lead to carry into this evening's 80 circuit race stage in the Kilbride area of Co Wicklow.

Liam Curley (Strata 3-VeloRevolution) and Cian Keogh (Ciclotel Travel fueled by YPB) were 3rd and 4th respectively.

They were both on the same time; some 26 seconds down on the flying stage winner Kennedy; a medalist in the elite TT national championships in the past.

Saturday’s late afternoon circuit race starts at 4pm and takes in 10 laps of an 8km circuit.

The race concludes on Sunday stage 3, which takes in four laps of a lumpy 27km course starting at 9am from the Beehive Pub on the N11.
