Orla Walsh has taken her second Irish elite title in two days at the National Track Championships in Dublin, setting a national record in the process.

The Nopinz Symec rider did a time of 36.22 in the 500m TT today to claim gold and take seven one hundredths of a second off the national record set by Robyn Stewart four years ago.

Walsh claimed that title today from Deirbhle Ivory (Weston Homes-Torelli-Assure), who recorded a time of 38.61, and Nikki Taggart (Arcane Cycling Team) on 38.71.

Walsh collected the gold medal today just 24 hours after being crowned Irish sprint champion, again beating Ivory into the silver medal position.
