Mia Griffin is just back from making her Olympic debut on the track and has had the best return possible to competing on home roads; winning the opening stage at Rás na mBan in Callan, Co Kilkenny, this evening.
The DAS-Hutchinson-Brother-UK rider won by several lengths in wet conditions - after a three-rider breakaway was brought back in the closing stages - to take the race lead on Ireland's premier stage race for women.
Griffin led in a team 1-2-3 on the night, with team mate Robyn Clay taking 2nd place and U23 Irish champion Caoimhe O'Brien rounding out the podium on the opening stage.
More to come.
