O’Loughlin’s Cunga livery is becoming more and more familiar
David O’Loughlin has posted a very decent performance at the Revolution track series in Manchester, finishing third in the points race behind winner Russell Downing of Team Sky.
The Mayo man was in action on the Manchester velodrome at the weekend with members of his Cunga Bikes trade team, which included a boys and girls selection as well as its elite men’s outfit.
In the elite men’s events, the Cunga Bikes trio of Welshman Owain Doull and Irish riders O’Loughlin and Charles Prendergast were 10th, 21st and 22nd respectively in the 6km Devil-Scratch race.
They faired much better in the point’s race, where O’Loughlin was third with Doull 5th and Prendergast 17th.
O’Loughlin and points race winner Russell Downing, along with second-placed Adam Duggleby, gained a lap on the rest of the field.

In the 10km scratch race, O’Loughlin and Downing were again the main aggressors, going clear of the rest of the field for what looked like the race-winning move only to be eventually hauled back.
In the end, O’Loughlin finished 10th in the overall rankings following the day’s full schedule of racing with Doull 11th and Prendergast 12th.
In the girls series, Cunga Bikes youngster Emily Kay was the dominant force. She won her three events to end the day top of the GC leader board.
In the boys’ events, Cunga’s Adam Lewis was a consistent performer and finished second in the standings.
