Páidí O’Brien has followed up his win in Blarney at the weekend by taking the Bobby Power Memorial in Carrick on Suir this afternoon.

The Osbourne Meats-McCarthy Cycles speedster edged out local man Sean Hahessy (Fitscience) at the end of the 120 kilometre race.

The victory came down to a two-up sprint after the pair had broken away from the day’s escape with 10 kilometres to go.

Colm Cassidy of Team Aqua Blue rounded out the podium.

In the A3 race junior international Michael O’Loughlin made it win number three for the season.

The NRPT-Magnet.ie man bested Darragh O’Mahony (O’Leary’s Stone Kanturk CC) and Henry Cooke (Limerick CC) to the line.
