Nikki Taggart of Arcane CT has taken victory in the latest round of the Women’s Cycling League in Corkagh Park, Dublin.
The handicapped event last night came together quickly and, once that regrouping had taken place, the Dublin Wheelers duo of Aideen Keenan and Cleo Harvey were the main aggressors, though none of their moves stuck.
After Keenan attacked for the prime lap she was chased down and beaten to the line by UCD Cycling Club’s Catherine Mahoney, but again the riders regrouped.

It wasn’t until the final lap that eventual winner Taggart got clear in the winning group. She was with Harvey, Kate Earlie (St Tiernans CC), Emma Smith (Navan RC) and Claire Ni Reachtagain (Sundrive Track Team).
When the leaders
rounded the last bend onto the finishing straight, Taggart let rip with a sprint that ended
the contest in her favour. Smith
finished 2nd and Ni Reachtagain
claimed 3rd place.
In the ‘B Race’,
while there were plenty of strong attacks none of those moves stuck and the
honours were settled in a group sprint.
Gabriel Goldenyte (Unattached) was quickest in the final sprint to the line, taking the win from last week's winner Charlotte Moore (Unattached) and Joanne White (Drogheda Wheelers).
