
Nicholas Roche is looking good for a WorldTour podium in China following the penultimate stage today of the Tour of Guangxi.
With just one more stage remaining at the Tour of Guangxi in China Nicolas Roche remains 3rd overall.
The BMC Racing man finished in the peloton today at the end of the 212km trek from Liuzhou to Guilin; taking 17th place after five hours of racing.
The stage saw several attacks on the climbs but regrouped for a bunch sprint.
Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) saw off Fernando Gaviria (QuickStep) and Magnus Cort Nielsen (Orica-Scott) to win.
Roche relinquished his lead in the climbers’ competition to team mate Daniel Oss.
Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal) still leads by 6 seconds from Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) with Roche 3rd at 11 seconds.
