Trinity Racing - owned by Irish cycling agent Andrew McQuaid and always with some Irish riders in its roster - has gone for a new look for the 2023 season, with also some changes made to the management structure. The good news for Irish cycling fans is that the team has two of our riders in its line-up for this year.
Kevin McCambridge (21), who won the final stage of Rás Tailteann during an eventful season last year, returns for his second campaign with the UCI Continental team. He is joined by Dean Harvey, the 19-year-old won won the Irish elite cyclocross crown last year and is also U23 Irish road race champion. Harvey is new to Trinity Racing this year.
The two Irish riders - who are among a promising larger crop of up and coming riders from Ireland - are among a 21-rider roster at Trinity Racing this year. And while the team is mainly a road race outfit, some of its riders will focus on MTB and gravel.
Ian Stannard, one of the team's managers in 2022, has moved on to Ineos Grenadiers and now former World Tour rider Pete Kennaugh steps in to fill that role. John Mould, a Commonwealth Games silver medal winner during his career, is assistant manager while Vuelta stage winner Nicolas Roche will also be involved at times in the management of the team.
The riders just enjoyed a two-week training camp in Calpe, Spain, with McQuaid saying he was very much looking forward to see what his charges can do in the year ahead.

“It was great to visit the camp for a couple days to see everyone working hard together and also to welcome the new riders to the team," McQuaid said. "I believe we have created a great learning environment for the our riders to thrive and having the experience and input of Pete, Nico and Jon is invaluable for the young riders.
"With each season we have seen a number of our alumni - both riders and staff - transition to the World Tour and we are extremely grateful to our principle partners, Specialized, SRAM and Zwift for supporting us on this project. We have another exciting roster this season and I look forward to seeing our young talent become better riders, under the tutelage of Pete and Jon, which will hopefully allow them to achieve results and step up."
Kennaugh said he was relishing the opportunity to lead the team this year and watching the riders learn and get better. "We are one of the strongest development teams in Europe and have a really good race program so I look forward to working with our talented roster over the coming season,” he said.
Thomas Perren, Specialized's senior apparel designer said the team's new look - which is very different to last year's mainly blue kit - was designed to capture a number of themes associated with racing - 'play, 'pause', 'calm' and 'chaos'.
“It’s a representation of getting into game mode," he said of the new look. "There are times in racing that you need to be relaxed and calculated and moments when you need to hit ‘go’ and burn some matches. Most importantly it is about having fun on the bike and crushing it as a team. Like in a game, there are usually charismatic individuals with interesting back stories, back drops and goals."
