The Leinster Criterium Championships, which was cancelled, has now been rescheduled to a new date. The event will now be run by Cycling Leinster rather than Starsky Cycling, which was initially down to run the title races this week.

There was some confusion about the event, which was initially scheduled for this Saturday. August 27th, when Starsky Cycling Club said its permit for the event was "revoked" by Cycling Ireland.

The club said the Cycling Leinster "will not allow" the hosting of two provincial championships on consecutive days - a reference to the Leinster Road Race Championships being held this Sunday.

Starsky further stated Cycling Ireland had "revoked permits for our next two events" with the club added it was informed "the decision is final and cannot be appealed". It expressed its disappointment with the development, especially as riders had already entered.
