Mia Griffin (Roland) is back racing in Europe after a successful trip to El Salvador and took a result today in Rome, though nothing could stop solo winner Paula Blasi (UAE Team ADQ) at Gran Premio Della Liberazione Donne (1.1).

The riders faced a real war of attrition in the Italian capital today, over 96km of racing, with 15 laps of a circuit that was up and down all the way; thinning down the peloton every lap until just 53 remained from a start list of 105.

Race winner Blasi was one of the riders on the attack today, which was dominated by her World Tour team. She took her first solo victory after dropping Silvia Milesi (BePink-Imatra-Bongioanni) to win just over one minute ahead of her.

In the reduced bunch sprint for 3rd place, Sofia Bertizzolo (UAE Team ADQ) led the way, some 2:50 down on her race-winning team mate. Ireland's Griffin was in that group, taking seventh in the bunch sprint for 9th on the day.
