Mego’s Simon Ryan takes career best win with solo move at Rás Luimní

Simon Ryan has taken the biggest win of his career to date with victory at Rás Luimní in Caherconlish, Co Limerick, this afternoon.

The Mego Racing team rider won by himself after a very strong solo move.

He had a few seconds to spare on Paidí O’Brien (Osbourne Meats/McCarthy Cycles) who led in the remnants of the day's breakaway at the end of the 120-kilometre race.

Both men had been part of the move that forged clear on the second of four laps and pulled out a gap of over six minutes on the main bunch.

There were around a dozen riders in the break with Aquablue CC, Fitscience CC and UCD CC among those teams represented.
