The huge bunch sprint that settled the first road stage of the Tour of Normandie after 201km into Forges-les-Eaux.
Connor McConvey was best of the Irish on the opening road stage of the Tour de Normandie in France on Tuesday; a stage on which An Post-Chainreaction scored a top 10 placing.
That result came courtesy of Belgian Nicolas Vereecken who was 9th in the bunch sprint that decided the honours after more than five hours in the saddle.
The 201km stage from Mondeville to Forges-les-Eaux failed to split the field, with Belgian Timothy Dupont (Veranda`s Willems) claiming victory from Pascal Ackermann of the German national team and Coen Vermeltfoort (Join`s - De Rijke).
German national team rider Lucas Liss still leads overall courtesy of his victory in Monday's prologue TT.

McConvey and Wilson, both of An Post-Chainreaction both finished in the same time as the winner as did fellow Irishman Conor Dunne (JLT-Condor).

The other Irish rider in the race, Felix English of Madison-Genesis, lost some group and finished in a group 4:56 down.
