David McCann (RTS Racing Team) yesterday lost time in the Tour of Oman as the peloton split to pieces during an uphill finale that followed a difficult closing 20 kms.

McCann was 67th; around midway down the field that was left strewn over 16 minutes back the road behind stage winner Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale)

The Irishman slipped down the GC but has expressed satisfaction in recent days with how his early season form is coming along following his 2012 debut at the Tour of Qatar last week.
