Luke Smith (Moynalty CC) may have taken a little longer to get going than usual to this season, but he is starting to hit the target now and collected his third win of the campaign in Co Meath on Saturday night.

The former international rider, who has ridden the World Championships in the past, was best at the Maxi Maguire Cup in Kilmessan, Co Meath, beating some quality riders in the process.

Smith also won the Brendan Campbell Memorial in Donore, Co Meath, last month and earlier in the season had won the Meath Road Race Championships, with some time left to get more wins of the board before the road season ends if he can maintain his form.

He was best last night from Paul Kennedy (Team Skyline), Eoin Kelly (UCD Cycling Club), Tim O'Regan (All human-VeloRevolution), last year's winner Daire Feeley (Burren CC) and David Harrington (Lucan CRC) and Gareth O'Neill (Athlete Nutrition Coach HD).

National criterium champion Aine Doherty (Dan Morrissey Pissei) was best in the women's category.

More to come.
