Mark Dowling has claimed his third victory of the past week, taking the Joey Whyte Memorial Cup in Stamullen, Co Meath, this afternoon.
The DID Dunboyne man took victory in a breakaway sprint finish from his team mate Fiachra 0’Mhuire.
The duo arrived at the finish after today’s climbing test with Ryan Sherlock (Cycleways) and Greg Swinand (Usher IRC).
Sherlock was away on his own in the latter stages of the race but was caught by the others and had to settle for third, with national vets champion Swinand in fourth.
Dowling took the win following his victory in the Brendan Carroll Memorial on Friday night and his Conor Pass stage in the ‘Kerry Group Ras Mumhan’ last weekend.
