Mark Cavendish has won the final stage of the Tour of Turkey, and his fourth of the race, with a very impressive late charge to the line in Kusadasi today.
Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin Fenix) again went early in the sprint while Cavendish hung back and left his effort later; the Deceuninck-QuickStep sprinter's final kick a really impressive one.
He just pipped Philipsen, who had won the previous two stages, to crown what was a fantastic week for the Manxman. Cavendish's performances over the past week have demonstrated he is clearly recovered from the Epstein Barr virus and has regained all of his sprinting instincts.
How he will do against the fastest men in the world remains to be seen, though beating Philipsen - who won Scheldeprijs just before the Tour of Turkey - suggests Cavendish is in flying form.
José Manuel Díaz, the 26-year-old Spanish rider with Delko, wrapped up the overall win today having seized the leader's jersey when he won the queen stage on Thursday.
While Jay Vine (Alpecin Fenix) had closed the gap to the race leader to just one second by taking time bonus seconds yesterday, he failed to make up the last second and so had to be content with 2nd place overall.
Irish rider Jesse Ewart (Team Sapura Cycling) was 62nd today at 13 seconds while compatriot Cormac McGeough (Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling) was 99th at 5:39.
