Marcus Christie has taken a very clear victory in the National TT Championships trial event, scorching around the course in Donegal in a blistering time last year.
The Performance SBR man has
been training in the US since the start of the year for a planned assault on
the world hour record.
And he has clearly come home
with some very good form; recording an average speed of 48.5km per hour on a
rolly 42.3km course in Burt last night.
The TT was organised by Foyle
Cycling Club as a trial run for the nationals at the end of the month. Marcus
Christie recorded a time of 52:10, more than 3½ minutes faster than runner-up
Donal Shearer (Phoenix CC).
Rounding out the podium on the night was one of the main organisers of the upcoming nationals, Ronan McLaughlin. The Dan Morrissey-Pactimo man clocked a time of 57:27.
