Luke Smith (Moynalty CC) has taken victory over Daire Feeley and Tim O’Regan of All human-Velo Revolution at Robinstown GP.
With seven laps of the 8km course in Co Meath
to complete, the race was marked by plenty of attacks from the start. However, one
of those moves on the opening lap or into the earky phase of the second lap
stuck.
However, as that second lap progressed, eventual
winner and runner-up Smith and Feeley managed to get clear. They established a
gap and worked up and open, sharing the workload until the final lap.
While there was plenty of cat and mouse up
front on that final lap, the leading duo stayed together until the finish,
where Smith beat Rás Tailteann winner Feeley in the two-up sprint for victory.
