Limerick teenager Autumn Collins back in 'Revolution' track action with Team Sky

Autumn Collins - in blue 'Adamstown' shorts - lines up with the Team Sky selection before getting stuck into the action at the Revolution series in Manchester at the weekend.

Adamstown -Arcane CC rider, Autumn Collins kicked off 2014 in spectacular fashion when she represented Team Sky in round 3 of the Revolution track series in Manchester last Saturday night.

Having been selected for round 1 last year, the teenager from Limerick was delighted to get a recall for this time around.

In front of a sell-out crowd of 6,000 spectators, the 16-year-old was a member of a Team Sky line-up lead by Isle of Man cyclist Peter Kennaugh.

Competing in three events with team mate Grace Garner - a member of the British Olympic development team - Autumn finished ahead of some of the rising stars of British Cycling, with race speeds averaging close on 46kph.

With her second outing for the squad now under her belt, she has gained invaluable experience racing against a quality field of young riders in front of a packed house.

Because the Revolution series has a strong team dimension and many individual riders want to compete; those individuals are sometimes found places in teams that have slots available.

However, securing a guest place with such a high profile outfit as Team Sky has been a fantastic development for Autumn, making her only the second Irish rider to guest with the team; world scratch champion Martyn Irvine being the other.
