Leinster Hill Climb Champs 2021: Conn McDunphy fastest on Jenkinstown

Conn McDunphy has limbered up for this weekend's National Track Championships by taking victory in the Leinster Hill Climb Championships in Co Louth.

While the EvoPro Racing rider, and national TT champion, won the men's category, the Leinster female hill climb title went to Linda Kelly (Unattached Leinster).

McDunphy rode the 1.7km Jenkinstown Hill in a time of
4:31, beating runner-up Christopher Reilly (Bohermeen CC) by 14 seconds.

Tomas McCabe (Unattached Leinster) was third fastest on
the night in a time of 4:51 and he also won the Louth County Championships men’s
title, which was run within the Leinster title event.

In the women’s Leinster title race, Kelly won in a time of 5.24, which was one minute faster that silver medal winner Breda Murphy (Marble City Wheelers).

Yvonne Doran (Orwell Wheelers Cycling Club) took bronze in a time of 6:41. Rhiannon Dolan (Cuchulainn CC) took the women’s Louth crown in 7:42.
