Lara Gillespie has once again proven victorious at the UCI Champions League, winning the elimination race 12 months after taking victory in the same event at the 2023 series.
The Irish Olympian - a bronze medal winner in the points race at the UCI World Track Championships in October - lived dangerously in the latter stages of the race in London tonight but timed her efforts to perfection.
And when it came down to the last two - Gillespie against Canadian Sarah Van Dam - the Irish woman emerged in a close gallop to the line to win. Anita Yvonne Stenberg (Norway) placed 3rd while Sami Donnelly (New Zealand) was 4th.
