Lara Gillespie has continued her very prolific run of
late by setting a new Irish junior record for the 10 mile TT today, Sunday.

The Scott-Orwell cyclist was in action at the Banbridge
CC-promoted Thomas White Memorial in Warrenpoint.

She clocked a time of 22:39 to lower the previous marker
which had stood for just over six years.

Back then – August, 2013 - Laura Maxwell set a time of
23:00, meaning Gillespie has today taken 21 seconds off the old standard.

Setting the new Irish record follows Gillespie’s bronze
medal in the individual pursuit at the World Track Championships last month.

And just before the Worlds she also claimed three silver
medals at the European Track Championships, bringing to five her tally of
Europeans medals as a junior, including scratch race gold last year.

Today’s TT in Warrenpoint doubled as the Thomas White Memorial
and the final round of the 3R Mobility Paracycling Series.
