Mark McGinley and Fergus McCarry came away from the Lakeland GP with wins today; the Four Masters CC men best in Fermanagh.

McGinley took the road back to Donegal having won the A2-A3 headline event from the winning breakaway.

And his club mate McCarry had plenty of time to savour his win as it came following a fine solo effort. He was on his own for about 30km.

While the Four Masters men took a double victory, Jonny Webb of North Down CC won the Masters race.

In the runner-up spot in that Masters race was Stephen
Finnigan (Yeats Country), with Glen Howe (Bann Valley Wheelers) rounding out
the podium.

The main event won by McGinley was 90km; three laps of a circuit in Derrygonnelly with a climb each time.

That climb was tackled four times; the last passage an additional section to the race after the three full laps were completed.

The A3s were given a handicap at the start but the A2s had them caught very soon after the start.

On the second lap two riders had
gone ahead and others began bridging across to them, eventually forming a large
breakaway of about 15 riders.

However, third time up the hill the pace was high and four riders pulled away from the others; that smaller stronger group going on to fight it out.
