Robin Kelly has continued his good form with victory on the opening stage of the Bogman 2-Day in the west this afternoon. The Waterford Racing Team man is pictured here winning a stage of the Wexford 2-Day from Greg Swinand (Aquablue) seven days ago. The question now is whether Kelly can hold yellow for the remaining two stages tomorrow.

Robin Kelly has shown no signs of slowing down as the season draws to a close after winning the opening stage of the Bogman 2-Day today, an event promoted by Western Lakes CC.
The Waterford Racing Team man came to the line with Mark Reilly (Lucan CRC) and beat him in the gallop that decided it, meaning he’ll start the time-trial tomorrow morning in the race leader’s yellow jersey.
The four in the break that escaped on the 90-kilometre stage were Kelly, Reilly, Eoin O'Connell (Blarney CC) and Eoghan Clifford (Galway Bay CC).
They hadthe guts of 45 seconds on the bunch with less than five kilometres to go but some strong chasing from behind saw them only have half that at the finish.
Tomorrow sees the riders tackle an eight kilometre time-trial in the morning followed by an 85-kilometre afternoon stage, so it's still; very much all to play for.
Last year the first and third stages were won by Sean McKenna, then of UCD CC and now of Aquablue, while the overall went to Colm Cassidy courtesy of him winning the time-trial.
The test is eight kilometres long and that is more than enough for anyone who missed the break to claw back, which would set up a mouth-watering final stage.
