Junior riders Callum McCaffrey (Saxun Extrusax Primot) and Ffion Dolan (TC Racing - Cycling Team) have prevailed against senior rivals to win the men's and woman's titles at the Louth County Road Race Championships 2025.

The title race - a combined men's and women's race - was run over five laps of the Darver circuit for a total race distance of 40km.

Though Kevin Leach (Drogheda Wheelers) and Michael Phelan (Spellman Dublin Port Cycling Team) were the chief animators, spending two laps of the front, theirs was not the winning move.

And though Leach attacked solo, and went close to winning, immediately the duo were caught, he was once again overhauled by the chasing group and, unfortunately, did not come away with a medal.

On the line, three riders fought it out in a sprint with McCaffrey taking the gold medal from Conor Mc Keown (Moynalty Cycling Club), with breakaway man Phelan claiming bronze.

In the women's race, as those riders set off with the men it was likely that the rider who survived with the men for longest would come away with the gold medal; with Dolan executing that plan and coming away with the title.
