Junior rider Niall McLoughlin has won the combined junor-elite-masters men's race at the Connacht Cyclocross Championships in Co Galway.

The women's title was won by Sinead Waters of Corrib MTB in the Gaeltacht CC promotion run at Colaiste Chonnacht, An Spidéal.

McLoughlin of Covey Wheelers Westport - a former U16 national cyclocross champion and already an junior track international - won the men's race today from Masters 40 riders Damien Creighton (Ballina Cycling Club) and Mark Quigley (All human VeloRevolution).

However, as none of the top three was eligible for the elite medals, the elite title went to Anthony Murray of Covey Wheelers Westport.

More to come.
