John Buller has taken his second big win of the season when he proved best at today's North Down Grand Prix.

The former Junior Tour of Ireland stage winner, Irish international and now second-year U23 had already won the Noel Teggart Memorial, among a string of top results this year.

And today the Bioracer-DHL-FRS man proved best after being up the road for most of the day.

He came in ahead of runner-up Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) and Liam Curley (Strata 3-VeloRevolution).

The racing was aggressive throughout with the decisive selection taking shape as early as the opening lap of eight in the 65.6 mile race.

Eventual winner Buller broke clear with Moore and Donal
Shearer of Phoenix Cycling Club.

They pulled out a gap but he bunch behind continued to
race hard and the advantage joined by the leaders never got very big.

Indeed, for much of the contest to stayed at between 30
and 40 seconds, enabling a chase group to get across.

And when those chasers made the bridge that created a
six-man very strong breakaway at the head of the race.

Those reinforcements arrived in the shape of Curley, Cian
Keogh (Ciclotel Travel fueled by YPB) and Chris McGlinchey (Vitus Pro Cycling).

While that line-up was a recipe for plenty of pace up
front and perhaps aggression that would split them late in the race; the fight
for victory came down to a sprint.

That charge to the line was won by Buller from Moore and
Curley.

John Buller timed his effort to perfection on the incline
to the finish line; leading it out but waiting until the last before he hit
out.

More to come.
