John Buller wins Ards Cycling Club Criterium
John Buller (Banbridge CC) has taken a strong victory in the main event at the Ards Town Centre Races.
Buller led solo for a long period before being joined late in the contest by Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport) and James Curry (VC La Pomme Marseille).
Behind the leading three there were plenty of riders aggressive in the chase.
Among those was Conor McCann (Inspired Cycling), Glenn Kinning (Kinning Cycles) and last year’s winner Ian Inglis (Black Rose Racing)
However, the leaders prevailed; Buller getting the verdict from Watson and Curry in that order.
Dale Walker (Phoenix CC) was best of the rest, coming through strongly for 4th place. And just behind him was a man making a return to racing; Chris McGlinchey.
This time last year McGlinchey was getting ready to take silver in the national road championships behind WorldTour pro Ryan Mullen.
He has since taken time out to travel and is now back racing; his 5th last night opening his account for 2018.
Just behind him was Christian Nachtigall; the Phoenix CC man rounding out the top six in the main event.
In the A4 support race Jonathan Coen (Dromore CC) claimed victory ahead of Stephen Hanna (Dromara CC) and Barry Greer (Kinning Cycles).
