UCD Cycling Club's Jason Kenny has won the main event at the Dublin Open Road Race Championships.

The races, which were open to riders from all over the country, were held today in Corkagh Park in honour of Mick Lawless; a legend of Irish cycling who is sadly no longer with us.

Kenny, who has made the switch from Comeragh CC as he is now studying in Dublin, got clear on his own very early in the race and managed to hold on for a solo win.

He had his team mate Conor Murnane in the group behind covering any counter attacks; the UCD men teaming up well in that regard today.

Behind the winner, his twin brother Rhys Kenny, came through for 2nd place in the colours of Comeragh, with Callum O'Toole of Bray Wheelers claiming 3rd place.

It was the fourth win of the year for Kenny; a rider who started the season as an A3 but has moved up through the ranks to A1 and and is continuing to enjoy success in the highest domestic tier.

He took victory in the A3 race at the Mick Lally Memorial in Co Meath on the opening day of the season.
